Clubhouse party!

Wes' birthday party was yesterday, and this year he wanted a Mickey Mouse party. We had the pavilion at McDade park, and it was a beautiful day! A little hot and humid, but what else is new? Little man had a great time, and loved all of his gifts! He got tons of clothes, and that along with all the stuff we bought at The Crossings the other day, he's set for at least the next year. We had a great crowd show up to celebrate with us, and we're so happy everyone was able to make it!

Where a kid can be a kid...

...Chuck E. Cheese of course! We have been saying for several weeks now that we wanted to take Wes there, so we figured this weekend was a good time to do it in honor of his birthday on Monday. It was great! We had as much fun as Wes did, who knew it was such a cool place?!? Air Show

We went with grammy and pop pop to the Air Show in Binghamton last weekend. It was a beautiful summer day (and I have the sunborn to prove it!), and Wes had a great time watching all the planes, and rumming around playing with his cousin.

2 years old!

I can't believe it, my little guy is going to be 2 in a few days! So we headed outside today with the intention of taking some 2 year photos. Mother Nature had other plans. We got to the park, I got a few pictures, and it started to pour! Oh, and like I said last week, summer in NEPA, it was about 65 degrees outside. Gotta love it!Isn't he cute?!?!

He insisted I take one of "froggy"

And one final one at the park before the skies opened up

Choo Choo!

For Father's Day, we decided to take a trip to Steamtown National Historic Site, right here in lovely Scranton, PA. We haven't been there in years, and thought Wes would really enjoy it, since he's getting interested in the Thomas the Train series on PBS. We got to go on a little train ride, and take a tour through the roundhouse, and then see one of the engines get "put to bed" at the end of the day. It was lots of fun!

So it's summer...

...maybe not technically, but hey, the kids are out of school, so that's summer for me! Now that I actually have some free time, my plan is to try and get back into shape, drop a few pounds, and start logging some miles in my running shoes. So far, so good. I've done 3.5 + miles the last 2 days, so it's a start. I have to say, one of my favorite things is my Nike+ stuff. My sneakers are Nike+, so I have a special sensor and receiver that go in my sneakers and into my iPod, and it helps me keep track of my workouts. It's amazing!

Crazy weather

So the day started off with a tornado watch at around 10 a.m. As soon as I got to school my little WeatherBug started chirping away, non-stop. Not to mention it got up to about 92 degrees today. We had some storms move in, and the sky just looked amazing, so I tried my best to try and capture the beauty of it.

The dog days of...

...wait, it's not summer! You'd never know that around here the last few days. With the temps being in the high 80's-low 90's, you'd swear it was August! Nope, just springtime in the Northeast! Next week it will probably be in the 60's...that's just life. Anyway, we took a drive to Grammy & Pop-Pop's this weekend to celebrate Uncle Jason't birthday. Wes and Lauren had a blast playing on the Nemo slip-n-slide and the Nemo sprinkler. They were like little fish themselves! Here are some pics from our day...
Blowing bubbles...
Wheee!

I really don't know what he was doing here, but it's a funny picture!

They decided it would be fun to drink from the sprinkler

On the way home, I stopped to take a picture of the Nicholson viaduct, just because it's cool!

A nice spring day

We went for a little walk outside on Sunday, just to enjoy the fantastic weather we had this weekend (except for the storms and the power outage Saturday afternoon.) These were some of my favorites.
